Why Become a Member?
Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, "...I will build My church...." A church is a body of believers called by God to assemble for worship, for mutual encouragement and support (Hebrews 10:25), to serve God and one another, to proclaim the Gospel and to make disciples through biblical teaching. God expects every believer to be a part of a local church. By becoming a member of a church, you become accountable to the church and the church becomes more accountable to meet your spiritual and other needs. A church is a big, spiritual family, and you should want to become part of such a family through membership.
How to Become a Member
Our bylaws state, "The membership of this church shall consist of such persons as confess Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord. All persons seeking membership will be presented to the church by statement of faith and baptism by immersion or by letter from another church of like faith. Should the church letter be unattainable, a conference with the pastor will be required. The pastor shall verify the candidate understands and accepts Baptist Doctrine. Membership requires the vote of the congregation," which typically takes place at the close of a worship service. Then you will be warmly greeted and welcomed by our members.
